still calling it peculiar

i have come to the conclusion that the smallest tiller on the hopi blue is producing a flower not another ear as i first though...there may be more ears yet...i can see some spots in the tillers that have thickened significantly...but no definite signs yet...the second photo is a disturbing one of immature jerusalem artichoke tubers laying on the ground under the plants...to the best of my knowledge field mice are the only critters ( besides humans ) that actively dig the tubers so i spread some small critter repellant around them, the brussels sprouts, and the maize...the stalks this year are spindly and i can't really be sure if the reason they are bent down is because something is bedding down there or if they simply cannot support their own weight...i am still concerned about what i will find at harvest next month...the third photo is of a cluster of chinese yam bulbs...i haven't attempted a census yet but i will need to retrieve as many as i can to prevent a yam invasion in the spring...as difficult as it is to see the fourth photo is of a ladybug patrolling the hopi blue maize and hopefully dealing with any aphids she (?) finds...and the last photo is of the geek inducing hopi blue
