population growth...or tesointe seeds on the hoof III

the teosinte plants in the top photo are leaning over under the weight of multiple seed ears...the ears grow on the ends of the branches that come off the main stem, weighting them down... the two plants here have over seventy ears between them and altogether there are over one hundred on five plants...much more impressive than last season's debacle ( but no ears in the community garden yet...bothersome from a morphological comparison viewpoint )...i have a potted plant to being in to try to produce some actual mature seeds but that is an iffy prospect given past indoor tesointe events...not prepared to give the idea up just yet though...more on this maize ancestor as it develops.
