...but it never sleeps well

i cleaned out the last of the plant material engendered by last weekend's mulching projects from the bed of my truck this morning and that included quite a number of asparagus "berries" ( each one has from two to five seeds inside...mostly two or three in my experience )...i saved some in a five gallon bucket ( which is now in the basement ) and took a few sprigs along with me out the community garden when i went to check on the fabric i used in the mulch...i planted six berries along the north side of the bed that is destined to be this coming season's potato patch to continue the process of intercropping and establish a new perennial in the garden after this past season's abysmal failure...i don't expect a massive harvest from half a dozen plants...but i would expect more seed and if we are going to engage the community i can't give a good reason why we shouldn't put ourselves in a position to provide anyone we can with material support..including seed they might like to try with no cost involved...so they are in there and we will see if "naturalizing" the seed has a better result than transplanting...more on this as spring is sprung.
