the teosinte meay be out of its element

i have done some "deep hanging out" in the great plains, the rocky mountains, the southern foothills of the appalachians, and in the bay area but the desert southwest has eluded me...i presume there is sporadic precipitation there and indeed there may even be snow...but i couldn't testify to that...if there is this may not be a unique experience in tesointe's heritage but it looks somewhat forlorn in the northwest indiana snow...the seed ears are gathering snow and their straw color stands out in contrast along with some pale seeds that have not shattered yet...i am hopeful there will be more next season...until the i can watch these hang on.
