new shovel

i foolishly broke my shovel yesterday in the garden, using as a pry-bar...which it wasn't...it was a shovel...a season without a shovel is a pain so i went out to the big box stores to purchase a new one this morning..( a fiberglass handled, lightweight one that will pry up on nothing )...while i was there i had a look at the field behind them...you can tell by the tire tracks that someone has been out there, but nothing much is going on...this was a bean field last season and my best guess is, if it's planted, it will be dense yellow #2...there are still multitudes of corn cobs from 2012, the last time it was planted in corn...it was a no-till bean field last year and it could be a no-till corn field next month...whatever it is it is still going to be one of the few area farm fields with street lighting...more on the ergonomics of the shovel as the season goes on.
