beds

a day off work with a bit of time before commitments take up the rest of the day allowed me to get to campus early and finish filling a second bed for planting day...only tow more to build and three to fill in the next twelve days...doable but it will be cut close...the ones that are already planted have growing populations...mostly root crops which is what this gardener gravitates towards...probbly because i like to eat them...the ollala potatoes in the second photo are thriving as are the german butterballs illustrated in the third...the russets aren't doing shabbily either and if things pan out the rest of the potato varieties will be cropping up soon...maize, beans, squash, and who knows what else will be going in soon...a diverse community means diverse tastes...we will make room for them all.
