first day of summer in the iuncg
foggy but business is booming in the vine department...the second vine on the cucumber plant in the top photo has found the trellis...fist step towards that wall...the pole bean in the second photo isn't far behind but still needs a little coaching to find the maize...it will...one way or the other...it isn't all sweetness and light though...it never is...something has been gnawing at the maize in the bottom two photos...we had put out garlic oil based repellant and we will be seeing how effective ( or not ) that is...we expect some losses...the asparagus transplanted from the truck garden has mostly failed...a couple still around but we are not sanguine...and critters are always around when you concentrate food in one place...it's a battle sometimes.
an industrial worker and university student (everyone needs a hobby...my hobbies have evolved and, to keep things straight, i have left my formal student career behind for reasons that are too detailed to delve into here...continuing to be a student of life however and not adverse to learning...stasis is death ) sliding down the back side of middle age...a social loner with collectivist leanings...explain that.
