friday spud headlines
red pontiac, ollala, yema de huevos, purple valley...the top two photos are a sampling of the eighteen potato plants from tubers up and running in the basement as part of the seed potato project...that seems to be going well and some of the older plants ( the craigs snowwhite for instance ) will be setting tuber soon...but what has the gardener geeked this evening is the appearance of two potato seedling from the seeds i soaked in gibberellic acid and planted one week ago...they may be difficult to pick out at first...however i tried to keep them centered in the frame, just outside the flashlight beam...they're there...two of the twenty-four i planted so far...it could mean potato plants from seed in the community garden...we can't get much more local...more as they come up.
an industrial worker and university student (everyone needs a hobby...my hobbies have evolved and, to keep things straight, i have left my formal student career behind for reasons that are too detailed to delve into here...continuing to be a student of life however and not adverse to learning...stasis is death ) sliding down the back side of middle age...a social loner with collectivist leanings...explain that.
