it's the third of july and i am rapidly coming to the conclusion that the field behind the big box stores will see no agriculture this season...you can still see the corn stalks from last season's crop in the foreground of the top photo but the plants growth in the back of the field has almost obscured the big box in the second...there's still plenty of corn laying out there if you look around but the rows are filling with native or invasive vegetation...if it ever sees a crop again the field will need considerable preparation work...there's no sign of any construction and the field is still "available" and zoned commercial...of course there's nothing commercial about industrial agriculture...not since earl butz...and the bottom two photos? i could never resist a well turned set of support roots.
an industrial worker and university student (everyone needs a hobby...my hobbies have evolved and, to keep things straight, i have left my formal student career behind for reasons that are too detailed to delve into here...continuing to be a student of life however and not adverse to learning...stasis is death ) sliding down the back side of middle age...a social loner with collectivist leanings...explain that.
