basement season so far
the yacon in the basement is doing pretty much what it did outside...as the bottom, well shaded, leaves die back robust new growth appears at the top on all the plants...so my assumption is things are copacetic...one of the spuds i planted a while back down there had turned itself upright and is greening...leaves will be along soon enough...the other is taking it's sweet time and, based on another presumption, working on roots rather than leaves...roots first seems to be a general rule..a small season but one that will be expanding some before the winter ends.
an industrial worker and university student (everyone needs a hobby...my hobbies have evolved and, to keep things straight, i have left my formal student career behind for reasons that are too detailed to delve into here...continuing to be a student of life however and not adverse to learning...stasis is death ) sliding down the back side of middle age...a social loner with collectivist leanings...explain that.
