nascent erosion II

over the past week there have been significant rains ( a january thunderstorm wednesday evening ) and then freezing rain, so i wanted to go have a look at some established erosion areas in fields south of here...there is less standing water ( and more ice ) than there was last trip out so you can see the ruts cut by the draining water much more clearly...it is allegedly going to be near sixty degrees ( fahrenheit ) in a week and raining again...should that forecast hold true we will be making another trip next week to see where all this stands...doubtlessly not the worst cases of erosion, however it will add some to the 1.7 billion tons of topsoil lost through erosion each year...
