we have sprouts

it is a bit warm for the second of october...nothing utterly unheard of...but warm none the less..which hasn't hurt the season...
the brussels sprouts that over-wintered and really came to life this season are producing...
the weather won't hurt the transplanted new york import wild strawberry daughter plant ( see yesterday's berry blog ) as it establishes itself in its new home...
and the rest of the imports don't seem to be unhappy either...
the small patch of winter rye is coming along...most of the plants have three true leaves and it seems like they too wil be well established before winter ( or even autumn ) arrives...
more teosinte ears are emerging from the stalks...
and some are producing clearly visible ( if you look closely ) seeds which will become more pronounced over the next weeks...there's more...spuds are still booming along...nasturtiums are still blooming and their cousin mashua is still going strong...ramp bed to re-work...jerusalem artichokes to harvest...asparagus to mulch...we will be busy into next month and, possibly, beyond...no rest for the wicked.
