new stuff

the last time i posted anything about the ramp bed it was basically that it was covered in snow and looking was pointless...well..it is warmer than it was over the weekend and the snow is mostly gone...even though there are traces in the ramp bed yet...
the two sprouts that i found last week are doing well...they are cold hardy...and...
conditions have not deterred at least four more plants from breaking surface...ramp season is definitely begun...
meanwhile in the basement this plant, which grew from usda seed marked zea mays mexicana but which looks like no teosinte plant i have ever encountered...
had produced and ear with the proper shape and requisite color silks so i am inclined to call it teoisnte and work with new experience and learning...there are always surprises in the garden...even when it is in the basement.
