early run to campus

went out to campus early today ( before the rush ) to check on things and found pretty much status quo...the asparagus had a bit of a ;lean to it...so i straightened it and then had a look around the back of the bed...
the potatoes are vibrantly green...the tomato i planted on may twenty-fourth is in bloom...and the maize is establishing itself well...we are all good here...
the outbreak of jerusalem artichokes in my bed was somewhat less dense that last visot...perhaps a sign that things are coming under control...i will not rush to judgement on that however...
the alfalfa has not been behaving at all...it is shading the bell pepper and a volunteer spud as well as encroaching on a neighboring bed...so...
i drove a post down near the center of the plant...
i gathered it up, blooms and all, with some twine and caged it, then removed the post...it will still bloom, still set nitrogen, and the bees can still access the leaves...everyone should be happy...it is not the turn of the watering group i am in to water today...so i left it to the responsible parties.
