garden maintenance

a trip to the campus garden was due and when i arrived i found that there has been movement...in some beds...others are questionable and it is june...high time if there is going to be a season in some of these...
there had been a jute twine failure in the asparagus bed since my last visit...
a few new turns of twine and the plants were upright again...
the einkorn behind the asparagus is looking verdant although not ready to produce just yet...
over in my bed the rye grass is starting to come in...
and there are quite a few sturdy maize plants...
while the alfalfa continues to bloom...both inside...and outside its designated ( but willfully ignored ) perimeter...
over in the portage garden i have a bed of robust potatoes...with indications there will be blooms here as well soon enough
and while most of the maize here is fine there seems to be a few misfires developing...gave them all a fair dose fo water and we will see if things improve...on the whole things are good...there is quite a way to go in the season yet...hoping things remain"good".
