some transplants and a little damage

these guys have been in the basement under the lights for a bit more than a month and, since the threat of frost has meliorated ( now, but not two nights ago..we will get to that soon ), i decided to move them outside...
a few of them had roots protruding from the peat pots...
and one was fairly pot bound...
so i cleaned out five containers and planted them in straight compost...
and sett hem in a spot that will give them morning sun and after noon shade to harden off for a few days...i did not water because since i transplanted them the forecast rain has arrived...and if the ten day is even remotely accurate there will be no need to water in the near term...
the three i transplanted eight days ago are out south and doing well...except...
there was a fairly hard frost night before last...i covered these three as well as the five i have up in the community garden...but clearly the frost cloth was touching the very top of this one and it was frost bitten and damaged...not fatally so...but this one may turn into yet another potato shrub...outdoors instead of in..we will be seeing how this comes along.
