maize in a couple of places

first stop this morning was the campus garden where the asparagus continues its streak of upright days...although without any new sprears at this time...
the hopi turquoise maize was upright as well...
most of the ears are still green...
however a couple of the plants were being clear about the season's end...
a finished ear...
that looks rather more blue than turquoise...still...not your standard dense tyellow #2...perhaps when the green ears finish there wil be more of a hint of turquoise...
the maize at the portage garden is signifcantly taller than the campus commnity...
and no one is ready to be finished just yet...sometime in early october perhaps...
i did bring in the last of the spuds from there...
this lot weighed in at almost four pounds which put the production from that bed as over thirty pounds of assorted varieties...surely no world's record...not at all shabby either.
