apple trees and schopenhauer

In assessing what had been lost and what had been saved i neglected to include the two apple trees i had under the now defunct grow light in the basement…they were retrieved and put out of doors at one of my daughter’s homes where they proceeded to shock rather badly…but every apple tree i have planted has shocked badly and I am disinclined to be overly worried…i picked them up last night and brought them to the rental and planted them in the back yard here…i didn’t read anything in the lease about a ban on apple trees so i suppose we won’t be put out in the street over it…and they can always be dug up in the spring and moved…then again it might be pleasant to leave a momento of the stay here behind…what harm could a couple of fruit trees do? i suppose we should see how they winter over first…with a bit of luck they will be another set of survivors…two more delivery systems for insistent dna that will thrive and ( hopefully ) reproduce in fulfillment of a sort of validation of schopenhauer’s universal will to be.
