minor irruption...
of seed out back with more to follow...the maturation rate of the ramp seed seems to have ramped up a bit...seven are now about to shatter and the first has already flown the coop..the seeds are dark and the soil in the bed is dark so i made no effort to find it...let it be and let it germinate ( or not ) on its own...ramp seeds can take up to two years to germinate so there may be a wait...the teosinte continues to develop ears and the older ones have begun to split open in places revealing more green seed...and there are obvious seeds in the sheathed ears as well...the last photo is of a triple tier of well turned zea support roots...a perennial favorite here.
