spud report

the potato bins in the plant room are becoming unquiet as chitting sets in...only two so far ...and nowhere near ready to plant ( and these two will need to be cut and callused because they are far too large to plant as drops ) but a sure sign that winter is progressing and the harvest is aging ( only seventy-two days to spring )...they may be going into containers under the lights indors, however they will likely finish their season outside...meanwhile the seventy-five day old plant should be working on setting tubers and the family of spuds has grown in the seventeen days between the last two photos and they are looking robust...should see tubers in this container in march...no doubt there will be more planting and some harvesting soon enough.
