what july looks like so far

the rainfall slowed in june but did not stop and july seems inclined to continue the trend...there are still a lot of unworked fields around here...but that is another post...this is about the yard...
the maize in my yard...like its distant cousin the dense yellow #2 out in the fields...is off to a slow start...in my yard mostly due to the cool temperatures of late spring...it is more like "shin high by july"...
the teocintli suffered from the same issues bur is marginally taller than its descendant...for now at least...warmer temperatures will help them both along...
warmer temperatures have the winter rye...
and the winter wheat hastening to maturity...later this month they will be coming in...
the ramps are moving towards their umbel inflorescence...( in other, plainer words they are going to flower and set seed )
there are more blooms on the tomatoes...
and after an angry and yellow tinted start the peppers are begining to show new growth...there may be hot sauce yet...
