hit the silks!

this container spud was done so i popped it up...
and it produced a single, half-pound michigan purple...which i took as a win and put it with some of the other stuff i brought in from out there today...
other yard denizens are doing fine as well...lots of jalepenos coming along...
the grapes are just beginning to soften and ripen...
gourds are in production...
sunflowers are opening...and while we are in the helianthus family...
jerusalem articholes in containers...
and in the bed are blooming...and because they are nectaries form mosquitoes...
dragonflies have returned to the yard in numbers...
the native berries are still blooming away...and berrying...
the asparagus is keeping up by having tossed out a late summer spear that is blooming...i could hope for berries but will not expect them...
that teosinte is dwarfing the maize ( and there is an ugly looking storm tracking this way...i am hoping for the best...the good news is falling over is a teosinte family tradition )...and me...
and that nine footer has a few tiers of hellacious support roots going on...but the good news for me is...
the first teosinte silks of the season have appeared...here's hoping for viable seed again this year.
