seasonal: a definition
after a december and january that were both dry ( mostly ) and above freezing ( mostly )...
winter...or what i would term winter weather...has returned to the area with snow in the fields and zub zero ( fahrenheit ) lows forcast over the next few days...and those have been absent for a few years...
the winter wheat and rye finally have some insulating snow cover...
there is garlic under there somewhere...
a few brave onions are breaking surface...
brave not because of the cold, but rather because rabbits are prowling and they may get that hungry...
down in the basement the spuds are doing well...
and the berries and their grassy cohabitants are looking robust...
berries are cooking...
new blooms are opening...
and new buds are coming along...i notice that outdoors there is always an irruption of blooms after a rain so, clearly, water is a significant element..so i have been watering the berries far more than i would usually do with any indoor plant and it seems to be working...more berry newas at it opens up.
