nightshades and grasses...some morphology

exactly which nightshade this is growing in the back of my truck is something i have not quite tracked down just yet...however i am certain it is a nightshade...

here's a bloom in the truck...

some potato blooms...

a tomato ( yes another nightshade )...

and some carolina horse nettle...all nightshades and all with a family resemblance...

and , as another line of evidence a fruit on the truck nightshade...

a potato fruit...

and some tomatoes...still researching what is in the truck...if i find it you'll know...

and in the grass family, some rye flowers...

some eastern gamagrass from the old perennial garden project a few years back...

and a maize plant flowering in my back yard this eveing...variations on a theme...dna is relentless but its palette isn't infinite.
