a bit of a harvest and some blooms ( and a bee )

i went by the portage garden to check on the beds and found four potato plants done for the year...

so i dug the tubers...

brought them home, cleaned them up, and they weighed in at eight pounds ten and one eighth ounces...there are quite a few more no quite ready yet...the total should rise...

beyond that, i found a bee snoozing in a squash flower...

and the hopi blue maize...

is working on flowering on its own...

here at home the maize is not flowering...however...

the teosinte is...no sign of silks just yet...there will be a bulletin when they appear...more when that happens.
