zea diploperennis

i was comparing the state of the zea diploperennis in the community garden with that which is in the pgp and it seems that the proximity of hawthorn hall to the pgp ( about eight to ten feet ) and the attendant heat island are what is making the difference since the photo period is the same in both gardens...either way next weekend is the mulch target date...the bottom three photos are of a few of the fourteen teosinte flowers the zea diploperennis has produced...they are way too late for a northwest indiana season but i am geeked that they tried.
Organic rather than transgenetic. Labor instead of chemicals. Diversity in place of monoculture.

- an ex- industrial worker ( the continued automation of jobs, condensing of ownership, plant closings, trade wars, and degradation of living standards here has rendered me a former industrial worker...now just part-time lumpen proletariat) and university student (everyone needs a hobby...my hobbies have evolved and, to keep things straight, i have left my formal student career behind for reasons that are too detailed to delve into here...continuing to be a student of life however and not adverse to learning...stasis is death ) sliding down the back side of middle age...a social loner with collectivist leanings...explain that.

the catch is it has to be an educational project which the pgp is. i never got ears from perennial tesointe...those i succeeded in producing from northern tepehuan teosinte, an annual and those seeds i got from
http://www.nativeseeds.org/
at reasonable prices...if those sources don't work out let me know and we can see what we can come up with...we can also discuss the intricacies of teosinte growing.
