i may be stretching a point...

i remarked on the different stages of dormancy the perennial teosinte zea diploperennis had arrived at in the community garden and in the perennial garden project had arrived at in an earlier post...the teosinte in the pgp is near hawthorn hall and the heat it radiates...the teosinte in the community garden is in the open with no such luxury...the strawberry bed in the community garden is around ten feet from the neighboring house which is situated on the south side of the bed...i find it odd that as far as i can perceive the plants on the north side of the bed ( top three photos ) seem to be further along in their march to dormancy than those on the south ( bottom three photos )even though those are showing signs of slowing down as well...i am trying to run down some actual facts on this to figure out if this is what is going on or if my imagination is simply working overtime...so far no real luck ( or skill )...this is a bed of perennials that should have a good producing life since there will always be daughter plants to work with....if nothing else this gives us a long-term platform to make our own observations and draw some sort of conclusions.
