a bit more bee behavior
living up to the leaf cutter name...they seem to be cutting leaves between the widely spaced veins in these leaves..or coming in from the edges...
and when the evening deepens and the temperatures begin to drop off they exhibit some fairly social behavior for solitary bees...the girls are bedding down after a busy day and they seem to want company..i also notice the dearth of heavy veins in the grass leaves ( in the teosinte patch ) they are choosing to congregate on...a further clue on where to look for the bees when they are not on the blooms.
