bee balm

even though i can find the girls on the alfalfa from time to time...
in terms of blooms the alfalfa season is dying back...
to the extent that the girls have had to look elsewhere...
and they seem to have some reasonably intense competition for those resources...
so i got some clearanced bee balm at the local garden center...
they were all pot-bound when i pulled teom out to plant so i loosened up their roots a bit to tell them they were free to go now...
and i planted all three with a generous dose of compost and a shot of water in the sunniest patches i could find for them...so far i have found no bee visitors...give them time to find it...they should show up...
in other happenings, the bean plants continue to vine on bamboo poles and members of the zea family...
and the ramp blooms are coming along well.
