nothing could be finer...

when i got to campus after work today the lawn was still tall grass prairie with a couple of varieties of clover...but still no bees...( although the rain may have had an impact on that...we will see )...
asparagus...status quo...
over in my bed the spuds are doing well...
the michigan purple has bloomed...even though the weather is putting a damper on a full display...
and a few others seem ready to follow...
the larger of the alfalfa plants is looking energetic...
and the smaller has begun to bloom...if there are no bees in the clover ( and that is not natural ) then i am thinking these will be bereft as well...
this pepper is clearly unhappy at the amount of water it is getting...and the tomato is stalled ( at home too ) because of the temperatures in the sixties ( fahrenheit )...there is no sign of maize yet either...temperature is everything for some...
there are a remarkable number of carolina horse nettle plants both in the beds and in the lawn...multiplying away...we have discussed their alien-ness and why it is significant before...that has not changed...
i found a couple in my bed as well while i was hoeing...fittingly next to their cousins the spuds... i am inclined to leave them for morphological comparisons...they may bloom and fruit..so may the spuds...that would be instructive...weed or not...
again this trip ( i know...it has only been two days ) i found clusters of maple seedlings in almost every bed...this will be a shading issue soon...hopefully it will warm and we will find maize and beans as well next time out...and, perhaps, a happier pepper.
