weather always has an impact

some of the local industrial filed shave been worked lately...i saw one being seeded last week...and some have not...
the unworked fields may be that way because they are destined to be beans and have a somewhat later plant date...or the nine tenths of an inch of rain my back yard got yesterday may have something to do with the lull...
it has been both wet and unseasonably cool which has had consequences well beyond keeping my bees from hatching...
my bed at the community garden has some examples of both negative and, what i would consider, positive effects of the current conditions...
both alfalfa plants are blooming...and have distinctly yellow tinged leaves...unhappy about the ample rainfall i think...
if the alfalfa is disturbed the pepper is downright angry and much more yellow than green...
the tomato...
the maize plants that are up ( all four )...
and the still green teocintli probably do not mind the tain but are biter about the cool temperatures and will remain defiantly stalled until it warms...
on the plus side the spuds are doing just fine...
in fact the michigan purples what had been budding last visit have bloomed all over the place and i am in hopes of fruits...most of the rest of the plants are budding as well... a cascade of true seed perhaps...
in other odds and ends of news the rabbit gnawed maize in the back yard...
continue to unfurl and behave as if the intend to sprout new growth...i am in unknown territory here so will be watching with some interest to see what happens...
the egyptian walking onions are busily producing aerial bulbs and blooming...doubly reproductive...clones and seed...
finally...while out looking at the industrial sector my eye caught what looked like familiar shapes off to my left...i stopped...and found a field of rye...
seems i am not alone...wonder who else plans to make bread.
