the zeitgeist remains quiet

wandered onto the campus garden this morning for a couple of reasons...
from the looks of things it would seem i am the only one wandering around out here...it is early yet...but not too early to get started...
no word from the aspragus...here or at home...the behavior of one should be a clue to the arrival time of the other...for now they are all being quiet...
over in my bed the alfalfa agrees that it isn't all that early...
and the fact that the apophytes are attempting to reestablish themselves in the bed i turned nine days ago shows the alflafa is not alone in its judgement...
so i turned the unplanted section again and worked it with a hoe to break up the roots of the apophytes more effectively...
and in the midst of that chore i turned up another volunteer elmer's blue which i replanted...more spuds...
meanwhile over in the anthropophyte section ( admittedly not accidentally introduced but surely not native...that's one dead center in the close up photo ) the ten thousand year old einkorn dna is being stubborn about getting in gear ( it is well up out in my yard but that was planted a bit earlier than this ) so i watered it and pushed the floaters back down...we will see what's up with the wheat next trip out...
finally the arborvitae that was planted the year the garden moved is looking robust...in case anyone needed to know.
