actually, more spuds ( with a touch of maize )

i went to the "other garden" this morning to have a look around and i found some strudy looking hopi blue in one bed...

and a robust population of potatoes...hilling them was the major reason for going and i used about eighty pounds of compost to dress the plants ...

and despite...

the recent warm weather...

i found quite a few potatoes in bloom...

including this rather large cluster..

which was attracting visitors...there were far too many members of the community present for any quiet thought...i hilled and went home...we will avoid mid-morning visits henceforth...6 a.m. or not at all.
