more zea news

ears of teosinte seed...
in varying states...
and stages...
of development are populating the back yard and seed continues to mature and be harvested...that isn't the main story this evening however...
this eleven or twelve foot maize plant ( which may not have survived without my direct interference in its existence...anchoring it in an upright position with stakes, bamboos, and twine...the again it may have thrived..we won't know anything for sure ) out in my yard...
has, i find, come out in some growths that may actually be ears...it is late for maize, however there is more than a month before the average first frost date and, the way things have been going, there may be even more time...we may have some results...i, for one, am deeply curious about what will transpire...if you are, stay tuned...we will be watching...
