early blue on the hoof

a quick trip out to the garden found a few more beans turned to seed pods ( top photo ) and that many more locally produced bean seeds for next season...looking over the beds i discovered that someone ( thing? ) has been digging up early blue potatoes ( second photo )...but spuds are clever things and they hide rather well ( not nearly as well as jeusalem artichokes...but better than say turnips or tomatoes ) so i gleaned a few spuds including a couple that had already sprouted ( third photo ... are these another "no dormancy " potatoes like yema de huevos? i don't think so since they went about four month in the basement last winter without a sprout )...i have a seed potato project underway so i wasn't about to miss this opportunity...they came home with me and went into a container out on the south side of the house where they will say until the weather drives them into the basement and under the lights...the garden may slow down..i will not.
