soil + rainfall + sunshine =
a burgeoning outdoor season in the back yard....from top to bottom.. a teosinte seedling "greening' and about to produce a true leaf...a rosette-like cluster of potato leaves...a stand of alfalfa, winter rye, and long awned soft red spring wheat ( there is intermediate wheat grass out there too...a perennial "wild and weedy" ancestor to the wheat...some cross pollination of purpose? the season is young...time to ponder )...a bed of ramps ( geeked! )..garlic growing amid the winter rye and winter vetch...rhizobia = nitrogen galore...and an alien looking sugar snap pea...the season has been up and running since march...these days it actually looks like it.
