rain

not quite the ten inches and change of rain we received in may 2019...however...

the rain gauge on the west side of the house recorded two and a half inches of rain overnight and into this morning...

while the one on the south side shows just shy of two...microclimate? inaccurate graduation? either or...probably neither is exactly a scientific instrument...then again a couple of years ago i had a few identical rain gauges that reflected a measured amount of water as the same in each which all measured different amounts of rainfall every time...so microclimate isn't impossible either...whatever the source of the difference, that there was considerable rain was reflected in the fields out to the south this after noon...

drainage ditches...both those by the berm of the road and those which have seemingly been dug out to follow erosion pathways...are collecting runoff... and the fields...

certainly have...

enough standing water...

to keep them filled for a while...if this keeps up there will be planting issues...we'll see.
