viable

after i got back home from the campus garden and cut the front lawn i decided to have a look at some teosinte seeds...both sets of zea mexicana seeds i started last tuesday...

have proved viable...

and between the two sets they had already produced eight with both devolped roots and sprouts...ready to plant...

i had already prepared a bed so i soaked it with the hose...

and planted them well spaced...i did not feel the need to mark the plants...after this many years of growing them they are easy to spot as sprouts...so we will be looking into the baggies and planting as needed over the next week or so...i have a few destinations in mind...zea wil spread out this season.
