august strawberries

it's august and the original twelve ever-bearing strawberry plants and their numerous daughters are producing well...to keep them focused i removed five more rouge stolons as i was weeding the bed...i am disinclined to prune anything...it seems like unwarranted interference to me...but the plants want one thing ( basically to colonize all the space they can ) and humans want another ( berries! )...my superior mobility and opposable thumbs mean ( in this particular instance, anyway ) that i get my way as an agent of strawberry eating humans everywhere and as a gardener as well...today's take was reasonable and it wasn't difficult to find a taker ( i may be an agent of strawberry eaters but i am not one myself ) there will be more and i will be giving them away...perhaps we will meet in the garden...stop in and have a look.
