autumn part 2

despite the autumnal hints in the garden there is still a lot of season to go...the young hopi blue in the top photo is just starting to flower...it might beat the frost...it might not...it is warm and dry and the northern tepehuan teosinte is curling its leaves in protest...they will unfurl after the water i doused them with takes hold...the cucumber wall has seen some harvesting recently as well as the corn but there are still a multiplicity of cuckes coming out...they will be around until the weather cools...the eggplants are relentlessly producing and the number of blooms on the plants inform me that they intend to continue as long as possible...the last two photos are of the hopi blue maize that has come out of its husk...mostly there to see if it develops into the deep blue corn i expect or if there has been some gene flow with the sweet corn...an ongoing photo essay until some sort of conclusion is reached ( even if i have to wait until i shuck some mature ears )
