garden populations
the cosmopolitan mix of plants in the garden continues to have a good season for the most part...the top photo is the flower from a new world hopi blue maize plant fully formed and doing its pollinating chores...the old world cucumbers are doing just fine in the new and the tomatoes never left home...the old world refined new world crop in the form of zucchini is not doing so well...i gave the last one i could find a healthy side dressing of compost and watered it well in an effort to goad it into further production...more on that triage as it develops...meanwhile the old world eggplant dna keeps demanding to be reproduced defying squirrels, human's, insects...whatever...the will to be is strong in the garden.
