potato storage project

a simple start...the lavender i ordered arrived today so i opened it and put a handful in each box of potatoes i have brought in...one in the early blue and one in the yema de huevos...research i have been reading indicates that it inhibits sprouting in the stored potatoes...given the stench i have to imagine it will impart some flavor as well...fortunately these are not eating potatoes, they are intended to be seed potatoes for a spring planting...their taste is irrelevant...their preservation isn't...as soon as the eucalyptus leaves arrive the project will be another step along...more on this basement centered ( closest thing to a root cellar i have ) project forges ahead.
