conflicted gamagrass

the eastern gamagrass in the pgp seems as conflicted as the strawberries in the iuncg...there are multiple terminal spears still in the act of flowering while easily just as many have shattered spreading seeds that resemble nothing so much as little chinks of wood all around the stand...and in all of this some of the leaves are taking on fall colors as the roots pull in the chlorophyll and the stand flattens out as the perennial prepares for winter...could be something of a downer if i didn't know it would all go on again next year ...the same, but different...continuity but changed responses to altered conditions...it always has involved some work, both mental and physical...and an investment of time as well as a bit of cash...but it is never boring...more as it comes up ( or winds down )
