i can tell it's august...
...because the jerusalem artichokes have begun to bloom...
and so has the zea mays mexicana...main stalks and tillers...
and silks hint at the possibility of seed to come...
the maize, meanwhile, is simply growing...
the tacna variety spuds are blooming lustily...not that that has anything to do with tubers...beyond, perhaps, diverting some plant energy away from their production...the blooms are nice however even if the likelihood of seed here is less certain than even the teocintli...
the tacna's solanum cousins have been blooming heartily as well...
with predictable results...
the zucchini blossoms haven't exactly been sluffing off either...
even the bean plant in my truck bed is blooming and producing...
relentlessly replicating dna everywhere you look.
