german butterballs
the german butterball season is clearly at an end...not much mistaking it...no one has been digging them and i couldn't stand it any more ( tubers are a passion equaled only by the zea family )...so i pulled on some gloves and went fishing for spuds..caught nine of varying sizes which isn't too shabby for one plant...i put them gently in the truck and carefully brought them home and cleaned them in the kitchen sink...they are nice and shiny in the third photo and they weight in at one pound four and five-eights ounces...light colored and thin-skinned, i am thinking potato salad...or...perhaps...cottage fries...this weekend will tell the tale on that choice...more later.
