firsts I

the west end of the cucumber wall has a decided yellowish cast from all te ,rain last month...cukes are such a water loving plant that i cannot remember seeing so much yellowing on them...i begin to wonder about drainage on that end of the bed ( east end green as could be )...but the bigger news is the first bloom have appeared and so the cucumber wall is beginning to serve its purpose...perhaps a wealth of hanging, growing cukes will take some of the water stress off the plants...we can hope...we can also hope for a bumper crop of slicing cucumbers just from the sheer numbers of plants...nine plants produced more than we could eat last season...we have many more this year...my thoughts are "help yourself "
