three sisters take a hit

i went to campus to check for damage from last night's storm...i was a bit disheartened when i arrived...most of the maize had blown over and the three sisters' guild had taken what seemed like a direct hit...closer inspection revealed that the maize had bent but had not broken...there was compost available so we hilled the plants back into an upright position across thre garden...plants are survivors and the garden held up pretty well under two strong storms in the space of about three hours that dumped about 2.48 inches of rain in a night...over 12 inches of rain in june and more forecast in the next seven days..we are saving on the water bill...but we don't want many more hits like this.
