beets

the community has found and harvested the german butterballs ( i took the spuds from one ) and so garden space is coming open...we have decided to plant crops for fall harvest and since i had lots of detroit red beet seeds ( heirloom form native seed search ) i planted sixteen clusters of seeds in what was once potato country...beet seeds are in clusters so multiple plants will come up from each...so...much as i dislike it...there will be thinning of smaller plants in the days ahead...if all goes well there will be beets in a couple of months...more as the fall seeds arrive.
