late corn II

errands ( picking up the compost in the next post for one ) took me past the industrial field behind the big box stores and the season of the oddly spaced corn i discovered in the third week of june is moving right along...it wasn't "knee high by july" but it is making up for lost time...it has begun to flower and the nascent ears are showing signs of tassels...kernels cannot be far behind...it will still be interesting to compare it growth with older fields out there that are farther along...and i'll have to keep my eyes peeled for harvest.
