it's my day to water

so i did...
i watered cow peas...
and various flowers...
and collards...
and a trio of young trees that were looking a bit weary...
and blooming carolina horse nettle...
and grass that was not teosinte...
and lamb's quarters and a host of other native growth...
when i started the soil in my bed was dry and powdery...
over the next hour or so i watered each bed until i saw standing water...
and when i had watered each bed i went back to the beginning and soaked them until i saw standing water again...
even with that, when i dug down three or four inches, the soil in my bed was not saturated...it had a mosit consitency and would clump together when squeezed but it was nothing like mud...
per the u.s. drought monitor we are "abnormally dry" here...i can see that...we need to keep after this.
